A small day in May
Afternoon light. A short sentence from a café owner. The reason any of this is worth doing.
Around five in the afternoon, the owner of a café we go to often said this.
“I used to spend the whole day answering messages. Now I just make coffee.”
It is a small sentence. We have been turning it over for a few days.
The tools we make borrow a little of someone’s time and give it back. They spend that time on the thing only they can do. The rest of us drink the result.
That is the reason.
